Mowamba River Lodge

The Property offers two independent apartments with separate entrances and a Tiny House. The North Wing apartment offer three bedrooms and a full kitchen, Dining and Lounge area. The South Wing apartment offers two bedrooms and full cooking facilities and Dining and Lounge area. In addition this apartment has full disabled access and bathing facilities. The Tiny House is a secluded one bedroom Tiny House with full cooking, bathing facilities, etc. Mowamba River Lodge offers pet  dog friendly (by arrangement), family friendly and handicap accessible lodgings in The Snowy Mountains.

 

Fly Fishing / Snow Sports / Mountain Biking / Hiking / Secluded Retreat / Home Away From Home

Situated on the banks of the Mowamba River (also known as the Moonbah River) just 10 minutes out of Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains, the lodge is in a secluded valley on 120 acres of bushland with an area of manicured gardens surrounding the lodge. The views from all lodge rooms is out across one of our two dams, the casting pond and then down onto the Mowamba river 150 metres from the lodge.

 

Ideal in Summer for those interested in fly fishing with stocked dams, a casting pond and multiple access points to the Mowamba/Moonbah River. The lodge offers guided tours for those wishing to explore deeper into the local fishing areas as well as basic training for those new to the sport. In the summer months mountain bikers and hikers can make their way to Thredbo or Mt Koscioszko to enjoy the huge array of trails available.Just 35 minutes from the mountain resorts the lodge offers great year round access to all The Snowies have to offer.

 

For those down days when you don't want to leave the lodge we have a newly constructed covered skate ramp, a gym, casting pond and dams, nature trails, farm animals (Highland Cattle, Pet Sheep, Kangaroo Joeys and Chickens), the mowamba river, and a lovely big fire place in the North Wing Apartment and small Log Burner in the South Wing Apartment or breezy balconies overlooking the grounds to sit and enjoy a glass of wine should you desire to stay in the quiet sanctuary of the lodge.  All rooms and the central area have hydronic heating to keep you warm in the winter months and all rooms have access to a wide breezy verandah with seating overlooking the grounds. The South Apartment has an access ramp for those requiring handicap access.

The property abounds with domestic animals (Highland Cattle, Sheep, Kangaroo Joeys and Chickens) & wildlife including Kangaroos, Wallabies, Deer, Wombats and Echidna as well as numerous bird species including Wedge Tail Eagles.
